Revision Electronics and Power Systems Inc. is home to Revision newest Business Units—Power & Electronics and Integrated Systems. The pace of innovation moves at the speed of light in Revision’s Ottawa facility. Revision’s electrical engineering and power development and delivery team design, develop, and manufacture advanced lithium-ion rechargeable energy storage systems for individual and platform applications, including armored vehicles.

Our Ottawa team works closely with manufacturing and electrical assembly teams to deliver products that are tested and certified to the highest possible military and civilian standards. All products undergo comprehensive internal testing here before being released to users. In 2010, the team in Ottawa was the recipient of the prestigious Deloitte Technology Green 15 Award, an honor created in 2007 to showcase 15 Canadian companies that are leading the way to create major breakthroughs in the field of green technology.

Revision’s 52,000 square foot operational and eyewear manufacturing hub houses the most technically advanced lens manufacturing equipment in North America. Revision’s Essex lens facility features an environmentally-controlled, 17,000 sq. ft. Class-100 Clean Room with molding and coating machines capable of producing millions of lenses annually. This facility also has fully-automated lens coating machines that clean, coat and cure injection molded lenses; a quality control lab; product assembly; warehousing; and distribution. Revision’s Essex facility is also a company hub for many shared services, including product development, engineering, customer service, marketing, finance, and information technology.

Revision’s Newport facility is the primary site for helmet and armor production and manufacturing, taking point on such major programs as UK VIRTUS and ACH Gen II production. The Company continues to invest heavily in helmet system production, upgrading and expanding this facility dramatically to a state-of-the-art manufacturing site flexible enough to adapt to a wide range of customer demand and order profiles. Between 2013 and 2016, the Newport facility expanded by 16,000 sq. ft.; and the number of employees that work at this facility more than doubled.

Revision’s Newport facility now hosts a full-spectrum of manufacturing—from traditional aramid helmets to high-tech polyethylene, as well as hybridized, advanced materials applications—is firmly focused on quality and efficient manufacturing processes, and features a dedicated workforce capable of shifting between single orders and major, high-volume contracts. True to Revision’s custom end-to-end development philosophy, the Newport facility has in-house testing and quality assurance labs to monitor the full manufacturing and production process—from dimension and weight validation through to compression and impact testing. In recent years, Newport has also been a prime testing ground for many successful company initiatives that have subsequently spread to the rest of Revision, sharpening the Company’s production and manufacturing processes and boosting yield, capacity, and efficiency considerably.

Revision’s Military Soldier Power facility, acquired in 2018 and located in Southborough, Massachusetts—a short distance from the Natick Soldier Center—specializes in portable power management technologies. In developing concepts for military, scientific, and commercial communities, the Southborough team has amassed considerable experience delivering innovative solutions for a wide range of user applications—including high-profile customers, such as the U.S. Army, as well as many international military organizations.

Since its founding in 2000, this location has developed thousands of intelligent power management solutions, working to reduce the weight burden for operators in remote and austere environments, as well as overcome critical power gaps for operations where running out of power is not an option. Notably, this facility is the birthplace of the Modern Portable Power Manager (known as the Nerv Centr Squad Power Manager)—a globally recognized, hand-held device capable of converting power from practically anything that makes electricity to seamlessly power any mobile device.

The Military Soldier Power facility provides a significant boost to Revision’s established engineering and power development capabilities, putting the company in an advantageous position to realize its vision of integrated power and data solutions to enhance warfighter survivability and lethality.

Revision Military Technologies (RMT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Revision Military, was established in 2013 and is located in a separate optical research facility in Essex Junction, Vermont. This advanced facility and laboratory is dedicated to independent research, the development of innovative materials science, and unique engineering solutions, and spearheading sensitive military projects for Revision. In addition to ongoing Research and Development programs with the US Army and Air Force military research laboratories, RMT is developing a number of innovative and proprietary technologies, several of which have the potential to be commercialized into Revision’s product portfolio, such as laser protective lens applications and other advanced optics and eyewear protection research and development programs.

In early 2016, the ribbon was cut on the Revision Military (UK) facility in Bristol, England—the newest office in the Revision portfolio. Revision UK was founded—following the Company’s selection to supply the next-generation head protection system for the British Army’s VIRTUS program—to facilitate Revision’s strategy for growth in and from the UK. This 4,100 square foot facility is situated in a prime location—not far from the main UK Ministry of Defence procurement agency, as well as other important customer sites. Following on the Company’s success in supplying several UK police forces with high quality personal protective equipment, Revision UK has also emerged as an ideal platform to amplify efforts directed toward the law enforcement and tactical market space in the region.
