LazrBloc Lens Technology

Laser threats—both visible and invisible—are increasingly used to disorient or damage the eyes of military, law enforcement, and aviation personnel. Revision’s LazrBloc® lenses provide advanced protection against these threats by absorbing specific laser wavelengths, including dangerous near-infrared (NIR) energy. Unlike surface coatings, LazrBloc dyes are embedded in the lens material, ensuring lasting durability and protection in the harshest environments.

These lenses also meet military ballistic standards and feature Revision’s elite anti-fog and scratch-resistant coatings for reliable, distortion-free vision. Available across multiple eyewear platforms, LazrBloc lenses are tested in-house and by third parties to deliver the highest laser protection (OD) with optimal visibility (VLT)—ensuring mission-critical performance when vision matters most.

What is Visible Light Transmittance? (VLT)

The amount of light a lens allows to pass through is called Visible Light Transmission (VLT). For example, a lens with a VLT of 55 admits 55% of visible (non-UV) light, filtering out the remaining 45%. The higher the VLT percentage, the lighter (or more transparent) the lens. The lower the VLT percentage, the darker the lens will be. Regardless of VLT, all Revision lenses provide 100% UVA/UVB protection.

What is Optical Density? (OD)

The OD determines the amount of laser light which is blocked (by reflection or absorption) by the eyewear lens, so higher the OD number, the more laser light that is blocked. Optical Density is measured at a specific wavelength and is defined as:

Which LazrBloc Lens is Right for Me?

The best option for laser protection will vary depending upon the users’ specific needs. When choosing a laser protective lens, match the lens to the specific laser wavelengths you’re most likely to face, balancing optical density (OD) for protection with visible light transmission (VLT) for situational awareness. Since no single lens can block all colors, select a solution that targets the most common threats in your environment—such as green or near-infrared—while still allowing enough clarity for mission effectiveness. Whether it be visible green, blue or violet lasers or non-visible IR lasers, we have seven different laser protection options suited for your needs and protection.

CALI-C: Protection against Violet, Green and NIR lasers
